Hop in your all-wheel drive vehicle, top off the gas tank, and head East out of Seattle by way of Highway 2 or I-90. Leaving the clouds in Seattle and entering the dry pine air of Leavenworth, you’ll quickly transition from paved highway to unpaved county road. Behind an inconspicuous gate, climb further up a 35-acre hillside to a truly secluded lodge.
This home has an approachable grand scale. With a two-story entry that features a timber ceiling and solid stairs made from Fir trees found on the site. With plenty of space to drop your gear you’ll quickly land in the massive kitchen with cabinets made from harvested Blue Pine that was also found on the property. For large gatherings or just your quick weekend getaway, the dining room and living rooms evoke a place that are meant for making memories. The backyard features a wine cellar built into the hillside.
With 3 bedrooms on the main floor, a master suite on the top floor, and a bunk room in the lower level, you and all of your guests have plenty of space to spread out.
Opting outside is easy when you have snowmobiles, an ATV, a snow cat, snowshoes, and cross-country skis at the ready. When you are done playing outside, you will find plenty to do inside with a climbing wall, rope climb, movie theater, billiard table, darts, and a steam room.
Situated above Leavenworth, the views from the house look out to Wedge Mountain and Sleeping Lady. Behind the house is a ridge that you can hike up and get a 360-degree view of the Columbia River and Icicle River, Leavenworth, and Blewett Pass.
This is genuinely an exceptional place to stay awhile.
