When you move from Seattle to Mercer Island you are looking for a certain lifestyle. A piece of that lifestyle can be lake living. For Emily & Zach that is what they found when they moved to their Mercer Island home in 2012. Their home sits in the desirable Faben Point, on the Northend of “The Rock”. Situated one street from waterfront properties, it’s like living the #boatlife, but it’s your friend’s boat – none of the bills and all of the benefit!
For Seattleites making the move from the city to the island it can seem like a big stretch. Typically you lose walkability and a quick commute. For Faben Point folks it’s an easy to hop on the highway by car or by bike to downtown (Seattle or Bellevue!) in only a few minutes.
Once you’re ready to chill at home, you can walk to Calkins Landing and take a swim, walk to the Lid for a romp, or walk to the Roanoke Inn for a drink. When living here your Seattle peeps will become your best friends during Seafair because you now live in the heart of the Blue Angels playground… which is when the outdoor pizza oven, the tree house, and the professionally landscaped yard come in handy.
In the winter months you’ll be happy to live in a house with new large windows, white walls, and finishes that even your waterfront neighbors will admire. The kitchen alone is decked out in Carrara counters, stainless appliances, and a Waterworks faucet.
The master suite is the size of most Seattle homes, and it has “all the things”. For starters, it has a walk in closet large enough to fit a bench and a dresser! It also flaunts a bathroom with heated floors, a Restoration Hardware vanity with West Elm mirrors, an extra long soaking tub, a waterfall shower head, and a water closet.
When living in this house, you can have one foot in Mercer Island and one in Seattle, or Bellevue… or the lake, your choice!
SOLD: This home is no longer available, it sold for $1,025,000.
